UAE Activates Remote Mode to Ensure Continuity of Services

In light of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic and the precautionary measures that have restricted business across the globe, and keeping up with the UAE’s ever-evolving digital strategy aimed at working smartly and efficiently, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department has announced earlier this month that it will continue to offer its notarial services online without the need for personal presence by activating remote work protocols leveraging the latest technology on offer to ensure continuity of its services.

The online notarial services announced to be available include notarization, attestation and registration of non-Muslim wills. It is worth noting that certain procedures and pre-requisites will need to be completed prior to scheduling a virtual appointment and signing via video conferencing technology.

Meanwhile in Dubai, a company can now be fully set up in DMCC without the need to visit their Client Registration Centre. This is made possible by implementing temporary end to end digital processes enabling customers to cope with the current state of affairs.

It is also expected that further similar initiatives will be announced gradually in addition to the various stimulus packages recently authorized which signals how committed the UAE government is to the business community and all investors.
