Dr. Ahmad Bin Hezeem

Dr. Ahmad is the Senior Partner at BSA, based in our DIFC office in Dubai.

He has over 24 years’ experience working in legal and judicial governmental institutions in UAE.

Former Director General of the Dubai Courts (2006-2014), Dr. Ahmad Bin Hezeem provides unparalleled knowledge of the UAE and region’s laws, regulations, and judicial systems.

His litigation experience is expansive, covering civil law, criminal law, family and private clients and breach of contracts. For nine years, he served at Dubai Police in various locations of law enforcement including the police stations and the headquarters of Dubai Police, as well as teaching at the Dubai Police Academy. In 2005, he moved away from Dubai Police and served at the Executive Office of HH Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and later as the Deputy Director General of the Ruler Court of Dubai Government. Dr Ahmad is well versed with the legal and judicial systems in the UAE. As the Director General of the Dubai Courts, he engaged in the daily operations of the courts and judicial institutions at local and federal level for over eight years. He is also a former member of strategic governmental bodies such as the Executive Council of Dubai, The Judicial Council of Dubai, The Federal Judicial Council, and the Dubai Judicial Institution’s Board.

Our litigation department, led by Dr. Ahmad, consists of skilled practitioners with decades of collective experience in the Middle East. With rights of audience in every country where we have an office, including the English Law-based DIFC courts, we are one of the few law firms able to litigate from boardroom to courtroom. The sheer size of our litigation department allows us to assign a dedicated procedural team to each case in the Court of First Instance or other higher courts. These teams specialize in the procedures of each court and are familiar with the staff, allowing us to ensure swift and efficient processing of procedural matters. We even have a specialist team that works exclusively with the Court of Execution, helping to facilitate coordination with the various government departments involved in identifying and tracing assets for attachment purposes.
