Michèle is a senior associate in BSA’s corporate team, specialising in banking and finance related matters.

Michèle has worked for international law firms in Dubai and Paris and has been involved in transactions including mainly structured finance (conventional and Islamic), securitisation, syndicated loans and crypto currencies.

Michèle acts for international entities whose work mainly relates to structured products and Islamic finance. Using her extensive knowledge of cross-border transactions and her business approach, she further provides advisory services to institutional clients while developing/structuring their activities. 

Her expertise include advising in relation to structured products; creation of asset backed funds; Islamic finance; securitisation; crypto currencies and syndicated and bilateral loans.

Highlights of experience
  • Advising the Central Bank of Lebanon on a number of transactions including the development of the Beirut stock exchange, credit and payment cards and fiduciary contracts.
  • Negotiating and drafting sale and purchase agreements in relation to the sale of shares of banks, oil, advertisement and airline companies.
  • Advising German banks and financial institutions as to their compliance with French regulations when providing banking and investment services in France
  • The acquisition of real estate properties in France through the conversion of a conventional loan into a Shari’a compliant financing, (ii) the development of the related structure through the creation of vehicles in France and the Luxembourg, and (iii) the creation of a refinancing product based on mudaraba;
  • Representing the Lebanese branches of 2 English oil companies in (i) the negotiations with the Government of Lebanon in connection with fuel supply agreements at Beirut International Airport; and (ii) the negotiation and the drafting of their distribution agreements.
  • Developing a USD 500 million global deposit programme on the Luxembourg stock exchange.
  • Advising on the incorporation and scope of activities of foreign insurance companies in Lebanon and the UAE
  • Acting on behalf of the Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR) in Lebanon in an ICC arbitration opposing the Lebanese Government to the joint venture in charge of the rehabilitation of Beirut International Airport.
