Owaid AlHathal is BSA’s associated partner in Saudi Arabia and our main litigator in Riyadh. He has extensive experience in both Saudi Arabia and Kuwait focusing on litigation and arbitration related cases. Owaid has built his experience acting for clients in complex litigation matters across a broad range of industries.
Owaid has
acted for and against major corporations in litigations before civil, criminal,
and administrative courts in Saudi Arabia, and is currently
representing a global leader in OCTG solutions in a USD 64 million
dispute and a Saudi airline
company in relation to its passenger and cargo claims. He is also
representing international banks in Saudi Arabia in arbitration cases.
Owaid also has experience in advising governmental and private entities on a
variety of legal and regulatory matters, whether in relation to their
establishment or heir day-to-day operations in the kingdom.
Prior to joining B.S.A., Owaid worked for a regional law firm in their Riyadh office, for the Kuwaiti Department of Fatwa and Legislation, and for the Department of Investigation of the Ministry of the Internal Affairs where he developed knowledge and experience in drafting laws and regulations as well as in undertaking criminal investigations.
Owaid has an LL.B. from Kuwait
University School of Law. He is admitted to practice law in Saudi Arabia by the
Saudi Ministry of Justice and is fluent in Arabic and English.
