Saim is an associate in the corporate department, based in the firms DIFC office.

He is a corporate and transactional advisory lawyer with hands-on knowledge and experience in complex corporate, commercial transactions, and banking matters across all industry sectors. He has dealt with local and international financings, litigation, M&A deals, joint ventures, investments, and divestitures. Saim is also well-versed in structuring and negotiating a wide array of legal documentation. 

He has opined on various legal and regulatory matters including but not limited to drug, labour, intellectual property, contract enforcement.

Saim is an admitted member of the Sindh Bar Council and the Karachi Bar Association.

Highlights of experience
  • Advised on the acquisition and transfer of originator brands from a Swiss multinational healthcare company
  • Advised in setting up a hybrid real estate investment trust which was to undertake the construction and acquisition of properties for the creation of rental income.
  • Advised an issuing agent, for issuance of a Sukuk backed by a Diminishing Musharaka of PKR 200 billion by the Government of Pakistan, to settle the electricity circular debt.
  • Advised National Transmission Despatch Company Limited in setting up power lines for evacuation of power from two power plants situated near Karachi.
  • Advised the Agriculture, Supply & Price Department of the Government of Sindh on the setting up of a public-private partnership project in Larkana, Sindh.
  • Advised a syndicate of banks in extending a limited recourse financing to an independent power producer in the aggregate amount of USD 60,985,714.93/- to finance the construction of a project.
  • Advised Pak Oman Investment Company Limited, in its capacity as a trustee, for the issuance of an Unsecured, Subordinated, Perpetual, and Non-Cumulative Term Finance Certificates in the amount of PKR 6 billion.
  • Drafted and negotiated a joint venture agreement for the establishment of a special purpose vehicle to undertake the manufacturing transmission towers, lines and equipment, tubular poles and hollow sections, and the fabrication of all kinds of plants, equipment, and components.
