Tyne is a senior associate based in the DIFC office.

Practicing since 2012, Tyne specializes in corporate law and related DIFC litigation and arbitration. He has worked on all types of cases including freezing orders, construction disputes, and acting for numerous banking institutions for the recovery of funds in terms of facility agreements. He also works on corporate related work including due diligences, drafting and review of agreements and advising on corporate structuring.

Tyne regularly issues legal advice and opinions corporate tax, VAT, employment laws, insurance law and damages claims.

  • Defense of numerous malicious actions brought against a client and their business partners in numerous jurisdictions around the world, including the DIFC, for alleged breach of Trust Duty, including the defending and defeating of Freezing Orders. Claim value EUR40 million.
  • Acting for a well-known UAE banking institution for recovery of a US$150,000,000 claim against numerous different entities dealing with fraud allegations and defences.
  • Acting for a well-known Kuwaiti Banking institution in recovery of US$50,000,000 ny having to transfer the action from Kuwait to DIFC.
  • Setting aside US$ multimillion contracts for a large real estate developer due to misrepresentation of facts.
  • Advising a multinational dental equipment and supplies manufacturer regarding VAT treatment of medical equipment and supplies as well as import and export matters and matching it in with their complicated commercial set up.
  • Assisting one of the largest construction companies in the world in relation to bidding for an LNG contract with UAE government.
  • Advising a prominent American insurance company on the long-term financial products and short term insurance products.
  • Managed and successfully defend and finalise numerous malicious actions brought against a client and their business partners in numerous jurisdictions around the world including the DIFC for alleged breach of Trust Duty, including the defending and defeating of Freezing Orders. The claim value was 40 million Euro
